Under the Weather. . .
Posted by TulipGirl | Under Family Journal Sunday Dec 5, 2004I’ve been a bit under the weather the past few days. Slept almost 24 hours straight. So, info on Ukraine is a bit lacking here. . .
For what’s going on in Ukraine, Hubby has some photos and analysis up. Or browse through the following resources helpful links, but is in no way an exhaustive list.

Oh, I’m sorry you are sick. Get well soon!
I imagine the last couple weeks have been very hectic and stressful. Make sure you get lots of sleep.
Hope you get to feeling better. You and Disco have been a HUGE source of information for us Ukrainophiliacs back here stateside. I just made that word up. You like?
Thanks again for everything. Keep up the good work and keep fighting the good fight!
Cheers,
K1
Get well soon! And thanks for the work you have put in on your website. I use it as my start page to read up on things Ukrainian thanks to the nice lists of all the sites that you provide!
We’re praying you feel better soon!
Oh, I hope that you feel better soon!
Get well soon. I thought you’d like this:
It is truly history in the making – seeing the Ukrainian people and Baroness Margaret Thatcher still fighting the good fight, for democracy and freedom. And once again, Lady Thatcher’s profound eulogy of Ronald Reagan rings out like a clear bell:
* * *
Others hoped, at best, for an uneasy cohabitation with the Soviet Union; he [Ronald Reagan] won the Cold War – not only without firing a shot, but also by inviting enemies out of their fortress and turning them into friends.
* * *
. . . today the world – in Prague, in Budapest, in Warsaw, in Sofia, in Bucharest, in Kiev and in Moscow itself – the world mourns the passing of the Great Liberator and echoes his prayer ‘God Bless America’.
* * *
And as the last journey of this faithful pilgrim took him beyond the sunset, and as heaven’s morning broke, I like to think – in the words of Bunyan – that ‘all the trumpets sounded on the other side’.
We here still move in twilight. But we have one beacon to guide us that Ronald Reagan never had.
We have his example. Let us give thanks today for a life that achieved so much for all of God’s children.
* * *
Hope you’re feeling better soon – if not already! 3 words:
Garlic
Honey
Vodka
:-)
I love Maggie Thatcher. *grin*
Thanks for the prayers and wellwishes. I made a big pot of soup last night (garlic!!!) and am feeling a lot better. Getting plenty of rest, too. Hubby’s been fulfilling all our obligations while I rest, and some friends took the boys to play today (and eat Peanut Butter sandwiches!)
Angel, it’s been amazing how self-restrained everyone has been re: alcohol. Vodka and beer, a normal part of walking on the street, is frowned upon. “We need to be soberminded. . .” So, I’think I’ll stick with hot chai with lemon and honey for now. *grin*
