Anyone At All
Posted by TulipGirl | Under Art and Beauty Friday Nov 4, 2005In my life, sorrow has kissed my lonely heart
Fear of man tears me apart
And I try, but many times I’ve loved the world
So many times I’ve been the whore
And I cried a million tears, or maybe more
So many times I have been the whore
I will fall down on my knees. . .
. . .
Cos if I could be anyone at all
Well, if I could be anyone at all
Let me be the whore at your feet
i wish i could place this… the link didn’t work so i’m lost. i guess i could go searching, but will likely just lose sleep tonight. not like i’m not already losing sleep as it is though. so tonight as i listen to th4 talk in her dreams, as i listen to jh-1mo make his little goat noises and nurse, i will be running through my mental lyric bank… thanks. :)
tulipgirl,
is that a song? the link didn’t work for me. who sings it? thanks, martha
nice song but i guess it would be hard to use that for congregational singing huh? mb
*L* Yeah. . . Not necessarily congregational worship material. The group is the Violet Burning. Listened to them quite a bit about a decade ago. Recently read on a blog somewhere that they are still around (and in a Presby church, maybe? Or maybe I’m making that up?)
MtnMama–you’d recognize it when you heard it. I came across the cassette a few weeks ago in one of our storage boxes.
Wow.
That is who I am and have been and probably always will be, TG.
Thanks for the point to a thoughtful, metaphorically group of lyrists.
they are a great band (one of my friends used to be in it). i’ve listened to them since i was a sophmore in highschool (89? wow, that’s about 15 years). the song of the harlot is one of my favorite songs and will give you chills when it is done live. check ‘em out if you ever have the opportunity.
It is the violet burning and we do use it for worship at communion time (www.bluer.org). Check out This is the Moment for some really passionate worship and just phenomenally artistic music. http://thevioletburning.com/
