Mondo Beyondo — The Dream List 2006
Posted by TulipGirl | Under Family Journal Sunday Jan 1, 2006Obviously, the Mondo Beyondo list includes things that are far into the future, not just this year. This is my day-dream list.
1. Live in Paris, in the Third Arrondissement.
2. Have another baby.
3. Finish my undergrad, and go on to grad school/seminary.
4. Be on the college lecture circuit and given handsome honoraria.
5. Drive an old Jaguar.
6. Learn to Dance.
7. Sing lullabies to grandbabies.
8. Write something lasting.
9. Wear my wedding dress/engagement ring again.
Btw, this is not a definitive list, and is open to updating and modification. . . *grin*
Wonderful. I’ll move in next to you in Paris…meet for coffee? *grin*
~ This is the first year that “get my degree” does not show up on my dream list. Somewhere over the course of this year I finally felt at peace with my self-educated, no-credentials self. It’s a wonderful feeling for me – as I’ve been insecure about it for so long – it’s going in my gratitude journal as a gift from the Lord.
God is good, isn’t He?
I hope that all YOUR dreams do come true. And if I ever do sit in on a college class….maybe it will be one of yours! :)
Tulipgirl, in years past I’ve made a “desires” list at New Year’s, based on the verse “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” You woudln’t believe how many of them he’s granted! So I’m praying that He will grant you your Mondo Beyondo list as well. Blessings!
Re #6 – we can recommend a good instructor/club in the area. He probably still has an introductory offer; after that the costs do add up. It’s lots of fun, though, and good exercise.
Lovely! Andrea at Superhero Designs has a great post about Mondo Beyondo… last year something like 100+ readers posted their lists at her site. So neat.
:o) cos i’m such a techy-dinosaur and don’t blog (yet..) i have a real live *princess journal* in which i paste ideas/pictures/goals/dreams/thoughts.. it’s an on-going *mondo beyondo* (what a gorgeous title)..
and… guess what… this year i am going to realise my life-long dream of going to paris OH YES !!
my brother just told me he is surprising me and hubby when we visit UK for bro’s wedding in july…
i can hardly breathe :o)
Tulipgirl, that’s a terrific list! Reading yours and others’ (who were inspired by your suggestion) has been both fun and encouraging–like Stephanie, I have seen God fulfill a lot of “Mondo Beyondo” dreams in the past, and I am really looking forward to seeing what happens in all our lives this year and in the future! Love!
Regarding #6, even if you don’t learn to dance this year, rent the documentary, “Mad, Hot Ballroom”. It is the saga of 5th graders in NYC who learn to ballroom dance for a competition. It is hilarious, fun, and heart-warming. It will have you tapping your toes and skipping through the week after you see it. It was my favorite film of 2005!
