Teleological Psychology
Posted by TulipGirl | Under Heart, Mind and Soul Wednesday Nov 8, 2006I’ve been listening to a series of lectures through UC/Berkley (hi, Dan!) on Human Emotion, and tonight’s lecture had some interesting tidbits about oxytocin and monogamy.
Very interesting stuff.
I’m in awe at how God has designed us, the complexities, the subtleties. Learning more about both body and soul feels like putting together a puzzle, one which I know I’ll never have all the pieces. The “picture” gets bigger and clearer, but I still know I’m only getting a glimpse of His amazing design.
What a glimse, too? Read this about Mommies, Babies and Attachment.
I saw your conversation with Monkey-love..i have been friend with her for 3 years. I went to your site and saw you guys were missionaries! My husband and I pastor a church in Humble TX. We are in the process of adopting a baby from China! I would really like to get to know you!
On a whim I googled the phrase Teleological Psychology after I posted this. It’s been used in various ways in the past, but I didn’t read all of them.
My intention with the phrase was to point to God the Creator/Evidence of a Designer, which is so apparent to me as I study psych.
Hi, Shari!
I’m afraid I may have gotten off on the wrong foot with Lindsay. One of the dangers of online interaction?
We are in Florida now, but were in middle-of-nowhere Texas before we were in Ukraine. (In fact, the son in the picture below was born in Texas–and he’s very proud of that!)
Congrats on your expected child from China! Hubby’s little sister was adopted from Korea. *grin*
Hi TulipGirl… Just wanted you to know I wrote you a little blog on my page…
Sorry. I tend to be a little over-defensive. I do that a lot. =) Call it a weakness!!
Lindsay. . . *grin*
I know what you mean about wondering which is worse, confrontation online or in real life. I am considerably BRAVER with words when online. =) Thanks for the picture comments. I happen to think she’s pretty cute myself!!
