The Joy of. . .
Posted by TulipGirl | Under Family Journal, On the Bookshelf Saturday May 24, 2008So, this morning R9 and I were snuggling on the couch talking about books we’re reading, making pancakes, and other lazy Saturday morning meanderings. Out of nowhere he asked,
“Mommy, what is sex?”
I gulped. I so did not want to have this conversation. The boys know some basics of the birds and the bees, but in general we’ve gone with a slow, natural progression of talking about this topic.
I stayed calm. “So, where did you hear that word?”
“Right there. . .” He pointed to the bookshelf. “The Joy of Sects.”
So… I just recently moved my blog from blogger to wordpress, and suddenly found a comment you left last July in my spam blocker. So sorry. Thanks (10 months late) for the comment. I am really glad you did, because your blog is hilarious (especially today’s post)! Looking forward to reading more.
That is the funniest thing I have heard or read all week!
That is hilarious! You were wise to blandly elicit a little more information!
Hi, Chelsey! I know alllll about the horrors of spam. Hence, recently transferring from MT to WP. Glad to have you visit!
Martha, yeah. . . Hubby read it and halfway through groaned. (So far, he’s done the bulk of The Talk with the older boys.) He was as relieved as I was that the curiosity was about abhorrent religious beliefs. *L*
Kathy, the boys definitely keep me on my toes!
BWAHAHAHAHA! Oh my heavens, that was fabulous. Though now I have to track down and read that book…
Good thing you asked a question before delving in!
