I’ve received several requests to unsubscribe people from receiving emails of comments on posts to which they responded. I want to make sure all understand that I have not signed anyone up for these subscriptions, when you post a comment you have the opportunity to opt in or opt out.

It has taken a few days to figure out some of the behind-the-scenes wordpress coding, but I can now unsubscribe those who have asked that I do so. I appreciate those who have been patient.

Karen and Rosemary, you should be unsubscribed now.

So as not to sidetrack the discussion, those who wish to be unsubscribed, please comment here.

I looked into unsubscribe, and don’t know how to undo it. . .

However, you can prevent subscribing to future posts by making sure that the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” box is not checked when you make future comments here. The default is checked, so you have to click on the box to uncheck it before clicking “add comments.”

Melinda, my friend Kristen has told me about Red Mountain Music — I think I’ve heard bits but haven’t heard more than that. Thanks for the recommendation! “Training Hearts. . .” has been on my Amazon wishlist for ages — I’d really like to read it.

Gail, I’ve heard a lot about thyroid issues being the underlying factor in many health problems.

J-bug, yeah. . . we splurged and bought two more Trinity Hymnals a few years ago. One of them stays in the minivan (along with the dictionary.) You’d be amazed at how often a dictionary or a hymnal comes in handy while driving!

Carole. . . yuck. . . so sorry about your ppd experience, too.

That’s a wonderful hymn; so rich and full of doctrine!
Regarding post-partum depression, something to check is hypothyroidism. While pregnancy does not cause it, if you are predisposed to it, pregnancy can bring it on. Family history is a factor. 5 of my sisters are also hypothyroid.

We started this morning with “Nothing But the Blood,” feebly sung, but … hopefully the beginnings of learning and singing more hymns around here.

My third baby came with the same – unrecognized ppd until I could look back and be honest with myself that things had not been right.

What an idea! I’ve recently been ‘re-discovering’ a lot of hymns I had totally forgotten.

This is my favorite verse:
