Glimpses of India

We talked about the caste system and the dalit. We talked about the persecution of Christians then and now, and read about India and how even recently Christians there are being persecuted.
I still want to protect my children from so much. . . I want to shield them from the realities of the effects of sin in the world. And yet if they must learn about the brokenness of the world — and they must — I want them to learn about it in the context of God’s redemptive plans. I want them to see hope and healing. I want them to internalize that what Christ has done is real, and will really impact their lives. And yet. . . we still suffer the effects of sin, we still see persecution, and we still know that God will triumph over all.

I agree with you. I want my children to understand the realities of this world and God’s supremacy over everything in spite of the evils. I think too many people blame God instead of praise Him.
TG, one thing I have realized now that my first baby is 33, our children are far more responsive to thing that are “caught” rather than “taught.” As I listen to them, I hear outrage at the same things that outraged us (like abortion, abuse, etc) and it blesses me so much. Keep uploading those little guys with the truth and what they can do to right the wrongs by God’s grace.
That book, btw, is awesome and sobering.
I am so overwhelmed by the responsibility of sharing this sort of thing with my kids. And yet I think they are stronger than I am. Thank you for the links!
