Great thoughts. From the begginning of my parenting days till now I can see my own change in this. My influence in the start was about submission, never letting them win, being in control. Never anything about the child as a person with certain weaknesses (like we all have). That has changed. I love how you explain setting your kids up to succeed where they struggle. I have a child who has some clear social and sensory struggles and I remember a time when we were told to "disciplne more consistantly and harder". So not the right road. He has taught us much.

Every child needs different things yet they do need to learn to honor and respect their parents and others. There is grace in our pareting but the label Grace Based Parenting has looked more like a child ruled and driven home....not a family home, in my expereince anyway. I am sure it's not like that across the board though.
