I'm getting ready to post our February book record (I wish I kept track of all the books I read since childhood) and came across Tenn's list.

Wow! What a reader! Just in the last few months I've gotten to the point where I don't fall asleep when reading aloud to the kids! And, I must say, looking at her list sparked a bit of library envy. . .

Heh. Not to be one of "those guys," but I just have to say that our home library dwarfs Tenn's admittedly fine set up. We've converted our finished basement into a library and are running out of wall space.
Maybe I'll post some pics at Mysterium Tremendum sometime.

When you're a real reader, though -- and I know we all are -- no amount of books is too many, right? And you can always tell someone who's not really a reader, because they'll take a look at your shelves and the first thing they ask is, "Have you read all of these?"

My friend Michael Asbell says he always responds, "Have you eaten all the food in your refrigerator?"

The answer is of course "no." But it's there when you need it!

I -did- see those pics, Missy!

And, to be clearer, it wasn't here home library I was envious of (though I think it is great) but her access to a public library! I think I read another post about her "method" of picking books while herding kids, and that REALLY made me miss the library.

Jared, John's been feeling really under the weather and wants to get back to the blog. Last night he had set aside some time to dive back into it--but instead was coping with a migraine. I'm missing his blog, too--even though I live with him and can ask him his ideas on anything IRL!
