And a child shall beat them. . .

A few days ago, R5 asked me to play chess with him.

And he beat me. Yes, my five-year-old won fair and square.

It was the first "real" game of chess I've played against him. I was paying attention, but wasn't really focusing on the game. At least, that's what I told Hubby. And I have won the two other games we've played this week--a bit of salve for my ego.

Whenever the 14 year old sister and I play basketball together, I always try to keep it close. The score was 9-10 her lead and she had the ball and shot a 30 foot three pointer to beat me. I could see her head was getting bigger by the moment so That was the end of that, the next game I beat her 11-2.

Hey don't feel bad. This weekend my 8 year old played her second full game of Scrabble with me, and came within 50 points of beating me - and I had a 48 point word in there! They learn quick don't they?
