We all scream for ice cream!

It's so miserably hot here. So, tonight we had banana splits for dinner.

Whole milk ice cream, bananas, homemade strawberry syrup, nuts and whipped cream. Yum! And part of a summer balanced diet.

Ice cream for supper is the *best* part of summer!

We've done that before, too! How long does your summer last? We had a lovely respite from the heat this week, but of course, we still have two months or so of heat ahead of us. And it never quite gets cold enough for me to be ready for the winter to end.

Well, this summer seemed to have a late start--winter ended, but summer just didn't seem to want to come. Just in the past few weeks it's become miserably hot. (And AC is almost unavailable--and when it is, it's so pricey. . .) I've heard this August will be even hotter. We tend to have a nice, long autumn.

The central heat is turned on, around October 15th. So, that's un-officially when winter starts!

Another great no-cook dinner we had this week--crudites! Sliced veggies and homemade dip, along with cold milk. (And carrot cake for Hubby's birthday!)
