Hey Tulipgirl - way off-topic, but do you have any good recipies for Thanksgiving favorites that don't require the cornucopia of canned/processed foods we get in the States? I'm thinking mainly of pumpkin pie that doesn't use canned pumpkin.

As for the other stuff, I've already stocked up on cream of mushroom soup and french-fried onions...

We did an "American Thanksgiving Dinner" for Hubby's English students last year. Oh, my. Everything I made turned out lousy (I thought.) I'm not sure if his students liked what I made because they just didn't have expectations, or whether they were just being polite. . .

Oh man, sorry to hear that. That's the trouble with the politeness around here...but the lack of expectations could also be a real factor, so don't feel too bad.
