I'm getting drowned by spam.

I'd love to have someone more tech-savvy than myself help me upgrade to MT 3.12 and install MT-Blacklist.

I was able to do the initial MT install myself, but made enough mistakes along the way to be a bit wary of trying the upgrade (and losing everything.)

Soooo. . . Any volunteers?

(And I'd love to send you a little "thank you" from Ukraine!)

I can help out. I am running MT 3.12 and MT-Blacklist on my site. Email and let me know if you are interested...

Just an FYI - there is an MT-Blacklist version available for MT 2.6x. I think it's 1.64 or something like that.

I'm currently running MT 2.661 and have it installed on my site. But even with Blacklist I was still getting what I thought was too much spam. So what I've started doing is changing the name of my comments script(mt-comment.cgi) about once a week so the automated "robots" that the spammers use can't find it. It requires a change to your mt.cgf file and a rebuild of your site but all in all, less than 5 minutes a week.

If you're interested in doing that, or want some other suggestions for fighting spam, check out the following link :

Wow, thanks James! I e-mailed you.

And thanks for the info and url, Sozo. It sounds like I need to incorporate some new habits into my blogging to keep it clean.
