The First Snow!

This morning I awoke to the boys yelling, "It's snowing! It's snowing hard! Look, it's snowing!"

We had about 15 minutes of big, wet flakes of snow. We couldn't see far past the window.

But it stopped and melted before we even left the house.

I love snow. It is the only good reason for it to be cold in my mind.

Neat. How long is the snow season there?

I think you might have it worse there than we do here in MN!

Honestly, I had a big fear of the winter here before we moved. Then a guy on our team compared Kyiv to Chicago. I've lived in that area, I can handle that. . . I'd say the weather here is pretty comprable, but a little more snow and a little less "lake wind". (Though, the highrises in our neighborhood act as a wind tunnel and that can be pretty miserable. . .)

I'm not sure how long the snow season is. My memory is a bit fuzzy. It's spring by May. I think snow is rare in April. Usually we've had smattering of snow in October and at least one good snow by now. But not this year. Last winter seemed mild. I'm not sure if it really was, or we're just more used to it now! But I'm hopeful that this year will be mild, too.

And I agree, Joyella--if it's going to be cold, let's have the snow!
