32 Years of Roe v. Wade

In Memorial: The Blackmun Wall

Women killed by legal abortion.

Scroll to Panel #28 and notice the name Latachie Veal.

I remember when 17 y/o Latachie Veal died in 1991. We were the same age. She died at the hands of Dr. Robert Crist in Houston--the same abortionist who serviced one of the clinics in San Antonio where I lived.

Latachie was bleeding after her abortion and when she asked the staff for help, she was assured her symptoms were normal. She was sent home and not monitored. She stopped breathing later that evening. In spite of CPR and 911. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Robert Crist continued to perform abortions, killing babies and some mothers, in several cities around the country.

Here is a direct link to panel 28.

Well, there *would* be a direct link if your comments allowed such things. (You might wish to note that they do not.) Anyway, here's the link: http://www.lifedynamics.com/Pro-life_Group/Botched_Abortion/?ID=324

For some reason links to that site tend to bounce back to the main page. Very annoying....

How sad. And to think that some people campaign so minor girls can have this done without their parents even knowing :(

Thanks, Valerie, for the direct link. I'll update the one in the post--I don't like that it keeps bouncing back to the front page. Can't find anything there.

Hi Tulip Girl - I have started a new aggregator for Christian women bloggers. I've added about 20 people to start it off. I'm not doing a blogroll as people have heaps already. All I ask is that people in it link to it. I added you. Could you email me and let me know if you want to be in (and have linked to it) or not? Here's the link:
We aren't well represented on the aggregators and this is a way for women to read each other and new bloggers to find other women. Once I've heard from the first group I'll open it up to everyone else to join. Thanks.
My email is catez2003 AT yahoo DOT com

Thanks to God I am thirty three today, and not a statistic. I almost became a victim of abortion back in 1971. God intervened, my parents changed their minds. Thinking soberly and mournfully of all those who were not so fortunate, and of the many women and girls who lost their lives, thinking they were doing something to preserve them.

God have mercy.

TG, I have the Cemetery of Choice at my site. It includes almost all the Blackmun Wall women, plus others, mostly illegal abortion deaths or deaths prior to Roe. (Legal or illegal, she's just as dead! We need to make it clear the prolifers oppose all abortions, not just legal ones! (Seems like a no-brainer, but some people just don't get it!)

Latachie's story is here: Hiding the Bodies.

Thank you, Christina, for those links, including a fuller story of Latachie Veal.
