Yushchenko, Tak!

Victor Yushchenko was inaugurated today.
What a victory for the people of Ukraine! A triumph over corruption!

My Mom wrote to me from Chicago, Today I watched the inauguration of Yuschenko and felt joy for the Ukranians as they sang with their orange scarves bundling hopeful hearts....and felt close to you. . . I am glad you will take home a greater part of history. . .

Both the inauguration and that note made me smile and cry.

So awesome to see good come out on top. It must be amazing to be there, in the thick of it.

I don't know much about Yushchenko, but I have been impressed by some of the latest press coming out of the Ukraine, particularly that which he himself has said.

While his comments have been portrayed as idealistic, could it be they are actual ideals he holds to and is promoting for their sake and not just his own? What say you, TulipGirl?
