Babymooning

Welcome to this world, Baby!
October 4, 2005

7 lbs 14 oz

Much love to my sister and her newborn son!

SWEET and low, sweet and low,
Wind of the western sea,
Low, low, breathe and blow,
Wind of the western sea!
Over the rolling waters go,
Come from the dying moon, and blow,
Blow him again to me;
While my little one, while my pretty one, sleeps.

Sleep and rest, sleep and rest,
Father will come to thee soon;
Rest, rest, on motherís breast,
Father will come to thee soon;
Father will come to his babe in the nest,
Silver sails all out of the west
Under the silver moon:
Sleep, my little one, sleep, my pretty one, sleep.

Congrats! Mom and baby on your hard work. I pray for a smooth transition for your sister and her family.

And, I'd never read that poem before. It's beautiful. :)

Congratulations!

I heard a hippie Celtic punk band from JPUSA perform that song once. Weird. I had no idea it was actually something else.

Oh, the memories! I used to sing that lullaby for my oldest son, 9 years ago! I remember the late nights in the rocking chair, while Mike was away at school...precious.

Congrats on the new nephew! May he be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
