I Thessalonians 2:7-8

7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. 8 So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

I Thessalonians 2:7-8

The first time that I ever meditated on this verse is when in a class "The Christian Minister in Ministry" Dr. Joel Beeke was expounding it for the purpose of teaching the love and tenderness that a minister is to have towards his congregation.

As long as breastfeeding remains taboo, especially in the church, we are not going to have the fulness of understanding of the Overshepherd and Bishop of our souls,Jesus Christ. He is the supreme example of the love of a nursing mother towards her children.
