Getting Ready. . .

Woohoo! We're getting ready for the Laurichka! Aunt Laura from Kyiv is coming to visit and spend New Year's, a traditional Ukrainian New Year's, with us!

(And, oh, I am soooo behind on laundry. . . And that guest room we e-mailed her about? It's still the office/storage room. Ah, well. She knows us well, knows all our dirt, and loves us anyway.)

So glad to hear we're not the only ones about to be taken over by giant mountains of laundry. How can this be? I just got us totally caught up on Sunday!! Oh yes, family of 6, girls who change several times a day (?!), one 2 1/2 day trip... I guess that's how it happens!

So glad about your visitor. I hope the time is wonderful.

TulipGirl I do enjoy reading yr blog. Thought of you today.
Am reading Joy Davidman's book, Smoke on the Mountain (the 10 Commandments) & I quote (from Ch 5 on "honor yr father & mother"), "Even those who do want [children] are sometimes rather shamefaced about it...and giving suck, the greatest joy and greatest need of both mother and child, is quite out of fashion among us. 'I'm not a cow!' some women will remark scornfully, as if it were preferable to be a fish."
"Smoke on the Mountain" is about the clearest & most sensible theology I have read in a long time. No wonder C.S.Lewis fell in love & married her. Her mind was even sharper than his. Get yourself a copy & enjoy.
(We have a new email address. It was the bigpond one before)
