Losing, Being, Becoming a Mother

As hard as it is to read, I recommend PacemMama's story of becoming a mother.

Wow!! That blog post is very thought provoking. I am very glad that the women posting is mothering her children well with attachment parenting. She is a strong person to be able to realize the impact her mother had on her and that she would make different choices if her mother was still alive. Very interesting.

I enjoy your site, thank you for sharing that article. I just had my fifth baby, this is the first time (except maybe with the first one) that I haven't been stressed about nursing on a schedule, I feed her when she is hungry... what a concept eh?
It is freeing to raise your children with God's Word as your guide and not man made advise. I worked at a daycare in high school and was told the same thing about spanking, just do it when no one watched. How horrible, I am sure the children' s parents would have been outraged. Thankfully, I felt so bad that I stopped spanking them.
I am rethinking much I have done as a mom and feel badly for many things. I love being a momma, thank God for His grace.
For me, I should have probably listened more to the advise of my mom. I thought I (and Gary Ezzo) knew better.

Misty, I can't tell you how many times I've said the exact same thing. *hug* And my Mom didn't live nearby and she was respectful of us in our role as parents--but I remember the little kind bits of advice or observations she made and wishwishwish I had heeded them. . .
