I want these shoes. They're from Green Toe line of Simple Shoes, minimizing the ecological footprint left by shoes.

I bet the Manolo, he would approve.

I don't know; I kinda like the "toe jam" style better. But $70.00??? Yowzers! For eco-friendly shoes, isn't that pricey?

I like the Chabah sandals too -- well, I like the way they look anyway. I can't wear any of those super-flat sandals, they make my heels hurt. But they're so cute!!!!

Sherri, I know, the price! Ack! But, were I to buy a new pair of inexpensive shoes, on sale, I would probably be spending at least $15, probably closer to $25-30. And for cheaper shoes, they would probably be coming from China, and made with petroleum products. Soooo. . . I think I could save up and justify the $50-70. Especially since at least one of the styles has replaceable parts. BUT, I'd really have to love the shoes and find them comfortable.

The more eco- and wallet- friendly option, is to focus on the REUSE aspect of reduce/reuse/recycle. Hit the secondhand stores, for sure! (But with shoes, sometimes that isn't as feasible an option, with how hard people can wear out shoes and have them mold to their own feet. . .)

But I was at the mall yesterday (needed new shoes for the boys, found a great deal, even if they aren't made with the best materials) and all the shoes I saw for women were primarily plastics, synthetic materials, and pricey. . .
