I have to laugh because I am obese, yet I have walked almost 300 miles this year and total exercise minutes (walking & weights) is over 7000. But - what can I say? I'm from Colorado - and look how slowly it is getting fat!

Laughing and loving my life...no matter what I weigh, I want to be healthy anyway, and glorify my Father in heaven!

PS Tulipgirl - you would be shocked if you came back to Ukraine right now. Women are gaining weight at an incredible rate. More women my size than ever before. It's sad in one way, good in another because it means they have more money for food. We need balance in life, don't we!?

I'm a little surprised at the 30-lb, 5'4" guideline for obesity. I'm not quite 5'2", and I'm probably about 15-20 lbs overweight, (and I weigh less than I did before getting pregnant with my first!) I just never thought I was anywhere close to "obese". People tell me I'm skinny! (I know they're mostly being nice, but still!!) It's not a very forgiving standard.

The change in percentages was really shocking, though.
