Saturday Errands
We woke Hubby up this morning with Bisbee Coffee and biscotti. Happy Birthday, honey!
The boys and I drove him downtown to work with his dad, and then we walked around the Downtown Farmer's Market. We bought some spices and looked at some art done by orphans around the world.
Then we went to the library. Not only did the boys get their books, but I scored at the library used book sale--a vintage Babywise book--the same bluish cover edition (1993) that we had when J10 was a baby.
After that, to Fruitville Market. Six pounds of cherries for Amaretto Cherries. Spinach. Broccoli. Cheap bananas. Peppers. Key Limes. Local Mangos. And a peach milkshake.
Now we're packing bags for the boys to have a sleepover with the grandparents tonight.
Hubby and I have reservations at a nice restaurant downtown, will be going to Lido Key, and are celebrating our eleventh anniversary.

So, did you buy the Babywise book to read again or to just keep it out of other people's hands? Maybe you could put it page by page into your worm compost. Though, on second thought the last thing you want is a case of "failure to thrive" in your worm bin.

Okay, I'll bite.
So, TulipGirl, what made you decide to purchase a vintage BabyWise book and why is that considered such a score, all things considered?
*wink*
My guess is that you plan to pitch it and it will be one less Ezzo book available to fall into a victim's hands?

Well, in part, it was to keep it from falling into some unsuspecting mother's hands. But I didn't buy the two guides to suicide, ie "Final Exit." (Though I did move those to the top shelf, so they would not be at eye level.)
Before we moved to Ukraine, I got rid of all my Ezzo materials, including that original Babywise and several copies of Prep and GKGW. The past several years, I've been unsure whether I had the GFI published '93 Babywise or the Multnomah published '95(?) BW. I'm pretty sure it was the '93 one. I wanted to compare it to the newer, greatly revised '03 BW. I wanted to see if things I remembered in my copy of BW were what I thought they were.
I really appreciate the ammendments that Gary Ezzo has made in BW. I do believe that the changes, while not making BW "good", do reduce the instances of more severe problems for babies and mothers. An honorable next step would be if Gary Ezzo would publicly issue a recall of all the BW/Prep materials printed before the most recent update.

happy anniversary :)
Thanks for the anniversary wishes! An even more momentous one was remembered by Hubby earlier this month--our fifteenth anniversary of when we met. *mush, mush* I knew I wanted to be his bride from that first moment. . .
