Homeschool Goodies

Alright so it's already August 1st, and I just placed my first curriculum order. We're not rushing into things here. *grin* I've known of and loved Timberdoodle for since I first saw a catalog of theirs in 1989. We ordered math and French materials from them.

I still need to place an order with Veritas Press. The younger boys are going to continue with The Phonics Museum (which we used and loved with the older two.) We'll be using their New Testament and early American History materials.

Also, we picked up some goodies at the office supply store today. Printer paper, high quality colored pencils, composition books. As soon as we got home R7 asked, "Can I start writing in my journal?" The "do things orderly" me wanted him to wait until we "officially" started school. The unschooler in me said to him, "Go ahead!"

Ooooh... new books and school supplies! Some of my favorite things! I love Timberdoodle and Veritas Press, too.

We are still anxiously waiting for our Veritas order that was shipped on June 27th. We HOPE it comes AND soon!! N12 has been checking the mail every day for 3 weeks.

I almost have the three different grade levels ready - K5, grade 3, grade 8.

I, too, have a "problem" with the children getting the books read before school starts. It is difficult to supply the demand.

The Veritas Omnibus (grade 7+) materials are AWESOME! WHAT an education! Anybody out there using them for junior high?

Office supplies... What fun!

I just love ordering homeschool stuff! I have all my orders in, but I'm not quite ready to start yet. I don't think I'll ever be as prepared and organized as I'd like to be before I start. I'll just have to dive in as is. When are you starting your year?

I am glad I found your site I had not heard of Timberdoodle, but I have requested one of their catalogs. This is my first year to homeschool.
