What happened to my blog?!?

My sidebar has disappeared. I haven't touched the template in ages. I checked, and the coding is still there, but it's not loading. Ack.

One of my boys better grow up to be super-techy to help me with this stuff. C5 has been pretty intuitive about computers and electronics, since he was a toddler. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes our tech-geek.

Though I'm skilled enough in getting the computer to do what I want, coding and trouble-shooting are beyond my ken.

*sigh*

UPDATE: It righted itself. Hunh. Thank goodness--C5 isn't quite up to coding yet. . .

For some reason the bottom part of your code has been cut off. You can get it from another page on your website. For example, I'm on your 'comments' page and I can see it.

I think it is fine when you are looking at a 'post page' (i.e., only looking at one post and its comments); however, when I am on your 'main page' I still can't see the bottom of your posts nor the right-side bar.

Tulipgirl,

Your sidebars didn't show up for me until I clicked on the "comment" button - now they are there. Weird! And I am SO not technically able with stuff like this - I know how to check my email and get around on the 'net, but that's about it.

Hmmmm. . . but when I look at my main index file, the coding is all still there. . . Grump. Time to call in the big guns, I guess.

TulipGirl,

Are you using MovableType? It kind of looks like it and if so you might just want to try rebuilding your main index a few times. It looks like your server had a hiccup while you were publishing your last post.

could be b/c of the pic in the prev. post. i had the same thing happen to me when i posted a larger photo... try to resize it and the side bar may come back...

I am using MT, gid. I rebuilt it a few times. It disappeared entirely for awhile, and now I'm seeing it--sidebars restored. Do you think speculating it may be an MT-mixed-with-spam glitch?

The two things that come to mind are:
1. Your host made some changes to the database and messed up your main index template. (not likely)
2. Your host made some changes to the database and it is now taking the query too long to pull back all the data and the operation times out. If you look at the html produced while trying to create you main index you will notice that it chokes half way through. (likely) They might have removed indexes on your database. You might want to contact them and ask them if they made any changes recently.
If you want to test it out, then go into MT and under the Weblog Config -->Preferences section change the number of days displayed to 1. Then rebuild the main index. If everything works correctly then it is definitely a change made by your host. If not then it might be in your template.
