Kyiv Memories: Pysanky Tank

Boys on the "Pysanky Tank," Fall 2002

I've been looking through old digital photos, and realized how many memories I have from Ukraine that I want to document here and share with y'all. I think I'll try to do it each Wednesday, but we'll see. . .

This photo was taken in the park across from Rodina Mat. The tanks are painted as a mark of peace, but always reminded me of pysanky eggs. This was when my Mom and Ben were visiting us in the fall of 2002.

What a wonderful store of memories that photo triggered. And to see the most recent camping photos and then this one---a joy. Where was T on the camping trip? mom

Here's something funny - I saw this post on Bloglines without the picture and was thinking, "Oh, her boys next to or on a water tank." Then I clicked over and saw the picture and was all, "OH! Her boys on a REAL TANK!"

Amazing what a little picture can do for my understanding!

Beautiful memories those must have been!

Yes, TG, keep your photos coming! Always love to see them. I think photos are one of man's greatest inventions. The digital camera, too! ;p
