Uncle Jonathan's Iced Coffee

I'm writing down the recipe I was given verbally last night, so I don't forget. This is by far the best iced coffee I've ever had. (High caffeine, sugar and fat content, no wonder it tastes yummy!)

Uncle Jonathan's Iced Coffee

12 c. spring water
1 c. fresh ground coffee

Brew coffee. Pour hot coffee into a large pot. Add and stir well:

1 qt. half/half
1 qt. whole milk
1 c. sugar

After blended well, put into clean mason jars. As it cools, the coffee will form a bit of a seal. Store in the fridge. It will keep for about a week, but I guarantee you it won't last that long!

This was served to us, along with the best Italian dinner we've ever had when we were guests at Hubby's sister's home last night. "Uncle Jonathan" is her husband--my bil, not uncle!

Is it possible that anything with whole milk and half & half could be anything but delicious? Now to work on knocking down the recipe for one person to drink in hot tropical heat...

Maggie, Grilled chicken breasts served with a white wine reduction sauce with garlic, butter, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese. And lots of other goodies. Jonathan needs to start a foodie blog like Brian.

OMSH, did you try the iced coffee yet?

Amoore, I made it with whole and 2% this weekend--didn't have half and half on hand. It was still super-yummy.

Just my luck. I read about this recipe on day three of the South Beach diet. I get to enjoy(?) my coffee with skim milk (and no sugar!) these days. Blech!

Tell hubby his comments aren't working, at least for me. I was going to leave a quickie comment welcoming him back and pleading for his permanent return, but I was stopped by technical difficulties.
