Baby Wearers! Win An Ergo!
I have a friend who is pregnant and I reallyreallyreally want to give her a carrier for babywearing. Some friends have compiled a list of resources for helping her learn more about babywearing and choosing what type of carrier she'd like.
And then Kristen alerted me to an opportunity to win an Ergo! While I've never used an Ergo, I have friends who love theirs. . . So, if I win, I have a new mama to give this front/back carrier.

I already have the book picked out that I'm going to read while I enjoy beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde. I don't think a trip to New Orleans is complete without it!
Where in the Ukraine did you live? I have a good friend from there that ran an underground radio station during the communist reign. He got arrested for playing Beatles music. At the time they arrested him he was wearing blue jeans. Due to that he actually had to serve some time in one of the jails.
I would LOVE to hear that song about Gagarin.

I have the tune and words in my head frequently, "Gagarin, Ya vas lubila, oy. . ."
"Gagarin, I loved you, oy. . ." Only, a lot more melodic and melancholy. The band is "Underwood," Hubby reminded me, but when I searched, I couldn't find a clip online. Though, knowing how Russians pirate music, I'm SURE it's available for free online somewhere. If/when I find it, I'll be sure to give you the link. You'll like it. *grin*

I wore @ in a Maya Wrap for a year or so. I think he liked it. I liked it. So convenient. It did take a little learning but once I got the hang of it he could be on my front or on my hip. I never wrapped in the back but supposedly you could do that infinitely. If I wasn't so lame I might be able to carry a 30lbs wiggler:)

I have just recently put my baby girl who's 4.5 mos. in the Ergo. Before I wore her in a sling (ouch!), a wrap (good for indoors), and a Baby Bjorn w/ lumbar support.
The Baby Bjorn was great for the winter months since I live in Brooklyn, NY and the carrier has a micro fleece cover to attach to it. The weather was cold and windy for an infant but she stayed very comfortable and dry in this system.
Now that it reached 85 degrees over night- you gotta love NY- I find the Ergo to be cooler for me and baby, Also, the Ergo has a great pocket for wallet, keys, lip gunk, and the like. Sometimes if my daughter is half asleep in it she can get mad when I go into the pocket for stuff. I keep my Metrocard in my back pocket so not to disturb her too much. Otherwise, the Ergo is very comfortable and sits on my hips well.
