This is one of my favorite pop songs from when we lived in Ukraine. Jen reminded me of it recently, and now I have the words and tune going through my head. The main line is Gagarin, I loved you, referring to cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. I found the words, but so far I haven't been able to find an online clip of the song. If anyone finds it, will you give me the link?

Listen to "Gagarin" by Underwood here.

We were in Kyiv for about 3 1/2 years, and returned to the States in the spring of 2005. For most of that time we lived not far from metro station Poznahki. (We watched Pyramida be built from the boys' bedroom window--if you are familiar with that part of the city!) Some of my Ukraine blogging is here, and some of Hubby's is here.

Where do you live? Which church or group are you working with?

our nearest metro is Libidska--we live in Teremki, Goloseyivsky r-n. my husband is ukrainian, but you'd hardly notice it from his english :o)

is poznyaki on Bazhana? there's a "pyramid" mall there that i know of. we have friends near there. i went to lang school by xharkovski metro.

we're with the unregistered baptists, but we're not in a strict church--so much of that is in flux right now.

i found mothering by grace forum from your "about me." it's what ive been looking for to learn more about grace discipline/living. thanks! it doesn't come easily and takes a lot of energy :o) i'm just starting this learning process, so i'm glad to find another source to learn.

Yup, you know where we lived. . . *grin* Our stop was right before the one you got off at for language school. (I was one of the few on our team who didn't attend there.)

And I know where your metro stop was. When we were first in Ukraine, our stop was Palatz Ukraina, one stop north of yours.

I've been very nostalgic for Ukraine lately.
