A Peak Inside. . .

I value transparency. Over the years I've been pretty open with people online, yet still going through cycles of being more or less transparent. I don't put my full name on this blog, partly out of security concerns when we were overseas, and partly out of respect for my children's privacy in the future. (Do I really want future employers to find nekkid baby pics when they google my kids' names as they apply for jobs?)

Some of y'all are aware that when we returned from Ukraine, we pretty much crash-landed. We were considered "short term" with MTW, and extended twice. The second time. . . well. . . perhaps that was a mistake in judgment. I've been blogging less since being in the US. Time constraints, adjustments, pondering things that I'm not willing to be transparent about yet. . .

The Lord has been gracious, but this time of adjustment has been. . . interesting. . . and led down unexpected paths. Personally, spiritually, emotionally, in our family. . . Still we're journeying down this life path. Images of Little Christian's pilgrimage come to mind. God is faithful.

Right now we are facing an obstacle that we were not expecting. Hubby is having significant health problems that are as of yet undiagnosed. His symptoms are worsening, almost daily. Of the four most likely possibilities, the two milder illnesses have been ruled out. He's undergoing further blood work, and as I'm typing this he's in the midst of a three hour MRI.

Peace of mind as we face the unknown, making the most of each day as it comes, wisdom in guiding the children, and a return to full health are what we are praying for now. Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers.

Posted by: Jennifer at November 3, 2007 12:13 AM

Most definitely in my prayers. Y'all have meant a lot to a lot of us, here, and I'm sure to a lot of folks in Ukraine.

As someone who stayed 3 years in a country where I couldn't read the road signs . . . you who stayed so long overseas with family in such turbulent times . . . I am awed by God's love through you.

Your family is that important to God, too. He'll give you the "time off" to take care of that, because that isn't time off at all.

Peace to you all, special concern that your husband take all care for his health.

Hi TG,

We've had a few curve balls of our own in the past few years, but none like this. I hope you know how much we care for you and hubby and boys, even though we've never met. Daily prayers will be forthcoming. Please do let me know what you find out. If there's anything I can do. . .

God is good.

As my hubby has had health challenges over the years, I know what stress that can bring. I'll be praying for your family -- specifically for your hubby's health, but also that you take care of yourself. That's so important for the spouse in the caretaker role.

Posted by: Mimi at November 4, 2007 03:49 AM

I hadn't read here for a while but you were mentioned on the FAM board - others are remembering you and that you needed some extra prayers. So I wanted to post that the FAM board is indeed thinking of you all...

hugs and prayers, dori

Posted by: SarahT at November 5, 2007 02:36 AM

You all will be in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know if there are any specific things you want us to lift up to our Lord.

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.
Psalm 13:5-6

If there is anything more we can do for you guys, please just let us know!

Praying God's peace for you!

Posted by: aliza at November 6, 2007 11:10 AM

I'm sending virtual hugs and deep sympathy to you in your time of stress and affliction. We are having one right now - don't know if our new lil' one will live, die or be severely handicapped. I can relate to your "It's hard, you know?" SO HARD. So hard to find joy in the midst of a trial, but God graciously gives it. He has mysteriously dumped so much grace on me through this deep, dark trial. I have nothing to attribute the song in my heart to except His Mercy and Loving kindness. I pray the same for you and your family. Also will be praying for wisdom and strength in dealing with the doctors. That can be a deep trial in and of itself!

Posted by: Ana at November 6, 2007 02:44 PM

You will be in our prayers!

Praying a song of joy penetrates your spirit...to lift you up and over....
