Young Conservatives Meet Mitt

Romney and YCLWR.jpg

Looking just past Romney's outstretched arm, you'll see four members of the "Young Conservatives of Our Neighborhood" club who attended the Romney rally today. Now that Fred Thompson is no longer in the race, the YC's are trying to persuade me that Romney is the one candidate who can unite fiscal, social and foreign policy conservatives. That's yet to be seen, but my boys and their cohorts are quite persuasive.

They're looking a little too young to vote!

(Noticed that Condie Rice met with Yushchenko yesterday in Switzerland...)

I was really disappointed that Thompson didn't do better. I had high hopes. This is a very interesting race.

Why would any conservative look at Mitt? Are his views more Biblical, or reformed than Ron Pauls? When will Christians weary of pagan politicians with their pagan forms of government?

Hi...I am really having a hard time with our Presidential race this year and noticed your blog's picture. Your boys look so cute!
Anyway...I have parused your blog and can discern your Biblical stand...Can I ask you...can you resolve in your mind the different Theology Mitt belives against Scripture? And if you can...how? I REALLY would appreciate some insight...I am NOT picking a side to argue just insight...humbly, Janet

I don't think Romney's theological beliefs are anywhere near Biblical. However, I do believe that he has the skill set and ability to be a strong president. I don't like that fact that if he is elected president it would mainstream LDS beliefs.

David, I am so thankful that Ron Paul is active in our country's politics. I do not believe that at this point he would make the best president. I am especially concerned about the need to end the war in Iraq well. Regardless of the "oughts" about how the US got there, it is important that we end things well and I don't think he would do that.

How did you choose between Huckabee & Romney?

Posted by: Jenny Shain at February 5, 2008 12:56 AM

Huckabee was ruled out early on for me, because at this point I don't believe he is well-suited for the office of presidency. I think he is well-intentioned, but not well-prepared. Also, his lack of discernment in various areas and his penchant for expanding government put up yellow flags.
